About me

After ten years as a network operations technician I'm pivoting to a new career in backend software engineering. I'm currently a student at the Turing School of Software and Design focusing on Ruby, Rails and Object Oriented Design.

During my time as a network operations technician for the world's largest fiber optic network, I gained a broad overview of telecommunications and its associated infrastructure. Working with legacy equipment from a plethora of companies and ensuring extreme reliability for a network heavy in physical infrastructure, constantly threatened by severe weather, natural disasters and various threat actors, made it apparent that adaptability, integration, data management, automation and cyber security are all paramount for large companies in today's changing world.

I'm embracing change myself and through my background in network operations and new skills in backend software development I want to help companies also embrace change, modernize and look toward the technologies of the future.
